About Me The longer version
I started tinkering with computers and consoles (PS3) back in 2008, mostly breaking them at that point. The first programming language I learned was Visual Basic 6, as that was the only book I had available to me, before moving onto VB.NET sometime in 2013-ish. Around the time I was learning Visual Basic 6, I was also getting more interested in how websites worked and started learning PHP, which I used near enough every day until 2022, before stepping away from web development for a while.
In 2020/2021 I switched from VB.NET to C# and started working on my own game, which I released on Steam called The Lonely Helmet. It was not great. Around this time, I also created the first version of my own Game Tracker, which I have been using every day since and recently upgraded from an unmaintainable PHP project to ASP.NET with Razor. In my free time, I also like to build physical things around the house or in my garden, of various quality and success.
Outside of my personal life, I work at SoftwareOne as a Senior ITAM Consultant. I started my work career at Getronics as an Apprentice in Software Asset Management, before moving to Softcat in 2018 where I created quite a few custom tools to make my life easier while managing customer Snow License Manager estates. I moved to SoftwareOne in 2022 after getting burnout from COVID-19 and needing a change, where I’ve been since.
